Award winning vocalist to star at benefit concert
Tish Hinojosa to raise funds for Escuela de Guadalupe in northwest Denver
Texas singer/songwriter Tish Hinojosa is the featured performer at a benefit concert for Escuela de Guadalupe 7 p.m. Friday, March 2 at Regis University Field House.
Hinojosa has been recording English and Spanish albums for more than a decade, including "Sign of Truth," "Frontejas," "Culture Swing," and "Cada Nino/Every Child," a 1996 award winning, bilingual recording for children.
Escuela de Guadalupe is a dual-language, community-based, private elementary school in northwest Denver that focuses on providing Latino children with a quality education. The neighborhood school is rooted in Catholic values. Operating within the context of family and community, the learning environment promotes academic excellence, spiritual growth, and healthy life choices. All proceeds from the event will go directly into providing scholarship opportunities for children whose families experience the greatest financial need.
