Mount Saint Vincent Guild to host gala fundraiser
Sister Mary Rose McGeady, president of Covenant House, America's largest shelter for homeless and runaway kids, will be the honored guest at The Guild of Mount Saint Vincent's, "Our Hands are in Your Hands," fundraising luncheon on Nov. 2, from 11 a.m.-1:30 p.m., at the downtown Hyatt Regency, 1750 Welton St., in Denver.
WB2 News anchor, Ernie Bjorkman is the Master of Ceremonies for the event which benefits the Mount Saint Vincent Home, owned and operated since 1883 by the Sisters of Charity of Leavenworth. The home provides education, counseling and follow-up treatment to children burdened with emotional distress.
Sister McGeady has emerged as this nation's leading "frontline" expert on street kids, and is the author of the book, "Are You Out There God?" She regularly testifies before committees in Washington, D.C., and speaks on television and in speeches across America on behalf of "her kids."
Prior to joining Covenant House, Sister McGeady has worked with children for more than 40 years. She has been a Daughter of Charity of St. Vincent de Paul for over 50 years.
Seats are $50 for an individual, $75 for patrons, and $1500 for a corporate table of 10. Reservations are required by Oct. 20.
