HISTORY AND MISSION
For over 25 years, the Office of Hispanic Ministry has been providing pastoral care throughout northern Colorado and in late 2003 realized its vision with the formation of Centro San Juan Diego, the Hispanic Institute for Family and Pastoral Care. The mission of Centro San Juan Diego is to build and support the spiritual, social, economic, and education levels of low-income native-born and non-English speaking Latino families and individuals that reside in communities across Colorado that comprise the Denver Archdiocese. Centro San Juan Diego is also a place where members of the community can gather, celebrate and preserve their cultural heritage.

Goals and Objectives
The mission of Centro San Juan Diego is achieved through a model that responds to the spiritual, economic, social, and education needs in the Hispanic community through the provision of pastoral and family services as follows:
The Pastoral Institute provides on-going opportunities for spiritual development and religious education through a diversity of educational workshops and certification programs in Spanish for both youth and adult ministries. The Pastoral Institute also provides advice regarding Hispanic ministry to parishes and communities on location, and training on Hispanic culture, traditions and pastoral ministry for English speakers.
In 2004, Sister Alicia Cuaron, the founder of Centro Bienestar San Jose agreed to assume responsibility for the family care department and to blend the programs and services of Centro Bienestar with Centro San Juan Diego to create the Bienestar Family Services Division. Bienestar Family Services program addresses the root causes of poverty through strength-based, family support and education in the areas of:
- Education, Adult Literacy and Computer Skills Training
- Community Economic Development and Leadership
- Health Education and Counseling
- Legal Assistance and Advocacy
