Archbishop Chaput's statement on resignation of Cardinal Law
December 13, 2002
"Cardinal Law's resignation
as archbishop of Boston marks another painful moment in the crisis of
the past year. I know Cardinal Law made a decision he believes is best
for the people of his archdiocese, past victims of abuse, and his Church.
I share in his hope that this action will help mend the deep wounds in
the Boston community and encourage reconciliation and unity."
