Share the Glory provides participants with the opportunity to help those who are less fortunate in our local community. We will be collecting items to be donated to a local charity in Denver. The items will go to individuals & families who are unable to afford these items.
Please ask each participant in your group to take part of this exciting outreach project. This is an excellent opportunity for the youth and all of us to make a very tangible difference in the lives of others.
This year we will be providing assistance to FRANCISCAN FRIENDS OF THE POOR (Home of Father Woody's Haven of Hope). Franciscan Friends of the poor provide food, clothing, showers, hair cuts, laundry services and meals to the homeless and indigent of our community. It is estimated that in the last year Franciscan Friends of the Poor provided more than 19,000 hot meals, 2500 showers and 1000 bags of laundry to the homeless in our community. They also collect and distribute food baskets regularly to our neighbors, and provide a bread-outreach ministry to the three housing projects in our area. To learn more about this organization go to: http://www.franciscanfriendsofthepoor.org/
Details about the specific items we will be collecting will be sent in your final confirmation packet (mailed in June). These items should be collected by the group leader and brought to registration on Friday, July 20.
